Mauricio Sordille

Founder & Editor, NameHub

I research and write about where names come from — their meanings, origins and the stories that make each one worth choosing. NameHub is the name library I always wished existed, so I built it.

About Mauricio Sordille

Mauricio Sordille is the founder and editor of NameHub, a name-discovery platform he designs, builds and researches himself. What started as a personal search for meaningful family names grew into one of the web’s most thorough collections — thousands of baby, pet, fantasy and business names, each documented with its meaning, cultural origin and the story behind it.

He spends his time close to the source material: cross-referencing etymologies, verifying pronunciations, and tracing how names travel across languages and generations. Every entry on NameHub is checked against primary references rather than copied from other name sites.

Through NameHub’s guides, Mauricio helps parents choose with intention: not just what’s popular, but what a name means, where it comes from, and how it will sound for a lifetime.

How NameHub researches names

Every name and guide on NameHub follows the same editorial standard:

  • Primary sources first. Meanings and origins are verified against etymological references, not recycled from other name sites.
  • Cultural accuracy. Heritage names are researched in their own tradition, with pronunciation and context checked before publishing.
  • Written by a named editor. Guides are authored and reviewed by Mauricio Sordille — no anonymous, mass-produced content.
  • Kept current. Entries are updated as popularity, data and usage change.
