Jonah comes from the Hebrew Yonah, meaning dove. In the Book of Jonah, God commands Jonah to preach to the city of Nineveh. Jonah flees on a ship, is thrown overboard during a storm, and is swallowed by a great fish (traditionally a whale). After three days, the fish vomits him onto shore, and Jonah finally obeys. Sleepless in Seattle (1993) features a young Jonah who tries to find his father a new wife. Jonah Hill has become one of Hollywood's most versatile actors.
